Our Apartment

Well, we made it to Chicago! This seemed like a great way to keep in touch with our friends and family! The plan is to add posts with updates and pictures with noteworthy updates and Chicago endeavors!


We're finally unpacked and starting to settle into our new apartment in Hyde Park. Our place is a two-bedroom on the third floor (the top right windows in the picture below are our sunroom and bedroom). No elevator :( So we'll be getting some exercise this year!





















We had a few friends come and help paint some walls last week (Catherine, Dominick, and Tracy) and we're loving all the color :D

This is a glimpse into our living room from the front door. Our ceiling fan/light fixture has a cool remote control that is fun to play with :D





















The sunroom is our favorite room. We bought a couple plants to liven up the place and keep the bed bugs away :D The corner by the light is a perfect place to read.






















We love the kitchen! Granite countertops, low enough for even Grace to cook on! Catherine gave us a table and chair set, originally painted purple with gold sparkles from her childhood :D

Side note to worrying parents:
We put alarms on all the windows and doors for extra security and peace of mind (although Hyde Park is the 2nd safest neighborhood in Chicago proper).


















Our bedroom is cozy and bright (LOTS of sunlight in the morning warms the room up by 8am!).
